I’ve never been too worried about unemployment. As a veteran consultant, I’m used to gaps in work—recessions, slowdowns, and inflation. Over time, I’ve learned to use those moments to do something productive, creative, or even restful.
In fact, I often tell my friends and family:
“I take a nap in the afternoon during these times, and suddenly a recruiter calls at 3 PM while I’m asleep. That’s it. From that moment, I’m good to earn for the next two years at least.”
Having faith in Him keeps me out of anxiety—and helps me live a happier life.
Just two days ago, my friend Attry from Toronto called me. I told him:
“I don’t worry much these days. I do my part every day sincerely, and the rest will be taken care of by Him.”
Interestingly, he said he had just talked to his wife about how God feeds the birds:
That’s what we call a divine coincidence.
When You Talk About Him, He Multiplies
Here’s the truth:
When we talk more about Him, and share His miracles with others, He will only increase the blessings and wonders in our life.
They will overflow.
We can’t even imagine how He chooses to bless us.
An Unexpected Miracle
Today, while working out in a gym in Bogotá, Colombia, I casually checked my email.
There it was—an email from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The body:
“Notice of reassessment.”
(Note: CRA never reveals tax details in an email. You must log in to their secure portal to view your account.)
For a moment, I felt uneasy.
CRA has audited me twice before, and my tax returns have been reassessed several times. It’s understandable—my financial profile includes foreign income, personal corporations, and extensive international travel. Naturally, I land on their radar now and then. They’re doing their job, and I respect that.
But in the past—before I came into the Lord—I used to get anxious.
I relied on an accountant in Brampton, Ontario, who did robotic, checklist-style filings. Even when paid well, he refused to think outside the box. And every time CRA contacted me, I had to face it alone.
A few months ago, I wrote a blog sharing how I used ChatGPT to prepare my 2024 Canadian Non-Resident tax return, and how the spiritual gift of wisdom helped me complete it accurately and save money.
This time, I wasn’t worried.
I knew He would protect me.
I didn’t rush home. I finished my grocery shopping, had lunch, took a shower, and later that evening, I logged in to my CRA account from my laptop.
And there it was:
“We reassessed your 2023 income tax return and recalculated your balance. You have a refund of $$$$$.”
After 27 months…
A refund.
His Timing Is Always Perfect
God’s timing is not our timing.
But His timing is always perfect.
“You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.”
— Psalm 128:2, ESV
He never forgets the seeds we sow.
Sometimes, the moment we pray, He hears us. But the manifestation of the answer comes later—at the appointed time.
Lazarus Wasn’t Late—He Was Right on Time
Consider the moment in John 11.
When Jesus heard that His friend Lazarus was sick, He was in another town. Instead of rushing to heal him, Jesus stayed two more days. By the time He arrived in Bethany, Lazarus had been dead for four days.
Everyone thought it was too late.
But Jesus walked to the tomb and said:
“Lazarus, come out!”
And the dead man walked out alive.“Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?’”
— John 11:40, ESV
What looked like a denial was a divinely timed delay—so that God’s glory would be revealed.
My CRA refund was like Lazarus.
It looked dead, buried, and forgotten.
But at the right time, Jesus said, “Come forth!”
And it did.
God saved that money for this season of my life.
Abraham Knew the Source
When God blesses us, we must give credit where credit is due—to Him and only Him.
In Genesis 14, after rescuing his nephew Lot from enemy kings, Abraham was offered riches by the king of Sodom.
But Abraham refused:
“That I would not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’”
— Genesis 14:23, ESV
He wanted the world to know:
His blessing came from God—not man.
May we live like Abraham—people of integrity and dependence on the Lord.
Let’s Glorify Him Boldly
When we continue to glorify God, just like Abraham did,
He continues to move miraculously in our lives.
He is a jealous God, and that’s a good thing—for it means He loves us fiercely and desires our full devotion.
So today, I thank Him—not only for the refund, but for the perfect orchestration of all things in my life.
And I invite you to do the same.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank you for being the God of perfect timing.
You see our needs long before we speak them, and you store up blessings we can’t yet imagine.
Teach us to trust you in the waiting.
Help us to live like Abraham—with unwavering faith and integrity.
And may our lives always point back to you as the source of every good gift.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
